Rosie the Bold by Michael Hurwicz (aka Stammers Rameau)
A

E A D
  Rosie the Bold came riding
A E
  Her silver sword a-shining
              A E F#m
She wore a blood-red feather in her snow-white velvet cap
E A D
The full moon at her back
A E
  Her satin cape was black
             A E7 A
Rosie the Bold had come to take him back

E7 A D A E
The prison walls were high, the prison walls were dark
                  A E F#m E
The guards were armed and armored to the teeth
 A D A E
Rosie lit a torch, Rosie raised her sword
            A E7 A A7
Rosie the Bold said, "Stand aside, sir, if you please"

  D A E F#m
Rosie the Bold was raised like you or me
              E E7
  Or anyone I know
       D A E
But Rosie had a passion in her soul
F#m E F#m E
And it was her passion and her love that made her bold

           A D
  And the story's often told
        A E
On a milk-white steed she rode
      A E F#m E
Up to the prison gates, Rosie the Bold
       A D
  And in that fearful place
A E
  Her silver sword she raised
       F#m
And that's how she's remembered now and known
E A
  Rosie the Bold
E A E A
She came to claim the man she loved, Rosie the Bold

E A D
And she reined up on the hill
          A E
He was clinging to her still
        A E F#m
She removed her mask and kissed him bold and plain
E A E A
Rosie the Bold had her man back again
E A
  And away they ran
